On the Trail. . .High Altitude Trail Running - A Breathtaking Experience

"Peak performance" sums it all up. Running trails at high altitude is, indeed, a breathtaking experience, with the awesome beauty above timberline, the colorful wildflowers and undaunted wildlife and the inspirational views from above it all. However, in order for trail runners to earn such views, they must deal with the reality that higher elevations are physically demanding.

    A new course for the race is being designed.

    Stay tuned for more information coming soon

    Some details to include with the image...runners will run on the east side of the loop first and then descend on the west side:

    Runners start north of the school facing south and turn left (east) at the school access road

    Runners head south running on the edge of the parking lot and Alpensee Road

    Runners turn left and cross Alpensee Road and continue south through the willows and the woods

    Runners will reach the apex and descend through the willows on the west side of the loop (now heading north)

    Runners will cross Alpensee again and head north towards Heartbreak Hill

    Runners will turn east again at the school access road and

         A) 5K finish

         B) 10K does a second loop

                10am    -           4 x 2.5km Snowshoe Team Relay presented by Hammer Nutrition Products.
