- Jim Schreiner and his
wife Betty
- Their area of expertise is
amateur athletics. They have one son and daughter in law who are
Olympians
- in Biathlon. The other son was
world class in flat water kayaking. Jim and Betty own and operate a
- Cross-Country/Biathlon Center in
Day, NY. Betty also serves as an advisor to us on health and self
- sufficiency for people with
handicapping conditions.

- Gene Bowen
- Gene is a retired mechanical
engineer from Weston Mills, NY. He helped develop our nordic sprint
snowshoe
- Racing package, and certified
Sprint Official, he is a stickler for details and has served as
Technical Director
- in many races.
USSSA Officers
These people are responsible for carrying out the policies of
the Board of Directors on a day-to-day basis.

Mark
Elmore: Sports Director
- In charge of issues
regarding various aspects of national snowshoe racing.
- Mark has been an active Snowshoe
athlete and event director since 1989. He is a certified USSSA Nordic
Sprint Official and serves as the Clinton County Youth bureau's
Recreation Director in Plattsburgh, NY. He serves the USSSA as the Sport
Director, and is the Vice President/Secretary of the Empire State
Snowshoe Racing Association
- (ESSRA). Mark has hosted such
events as the North American Snowshoe Classic and the Inaugural 2001
U.S. National Snowshoe Championships. Mark also founded and directs the
Beekmantown 'Snowshoe' Eagles Club, which won the International Snowshoe
Championships in 1998, 1999, and 2000. He has served as a Track and
Field Coach for nearly 25 years to athletes of all ages, including
Olympic medalists and former World Record Holders. His email address is

- Mike Bucek: Marketing
Director
- In charge of all
aspects regarding the presentation of the USSSA to the public
- Mike is a social Studies
teacher and graphic artist from Glens Falls, NY. He serves as the
USSSA's Marketing Director. Mike has high altitude trekking and
mountaineering experience. He serves as our advisor on Winter Safety.

Stephen
Cobb: Website Manager
- Steve got involved with snowshoe
racing while attending Paul Smith's College in the Adirondack Mountains
of New York in the late 1990s. He has been involved with both Boy and
Girl Scouts where he has been able to share his love of all things
outdoors for many years. Steve has brought his talents in website
design and management (his other love) to the USSSA, ESSRA and IASSRF.
Steve is currently working as the Camp Ranger for a Girl Scout council
in Michigan. He can be reached at
