We are currently looking for event dates for the 2015-16 season. If you know of any please have the race organizer contact us to as soon as they have a firm date.

 5th annual McCauley Snowshoe Classic

Start 10 AM on McCauley Mountain in conjunction with the Old Forge Winter Carnival.

This 5 Km event is sponsored by Kiwanis of Central Adirondacks and Mountainman Outdoor. Registration (8:30 - 9:45) is at the yurt on the left midway through the parking lot. at 3oo McCauley Mountain Rd in Old Forge. 


The prizes are : 1st place man and woman $500 in cash and prizes, 2nd place $250 in cash and prizes,3rd place $100 in cash and prizes. There will be drawings and outings for kids. 
The course is a 5 Km run on McCauley mountain through 1930's ski area with the original equipment beside the course. The course starts near the registration yurt and proceeds on groomed trails and single track through the woods up to the high point at the top of the old slalom slope and winds its way through the old equipment down through single track in the woods to reveal the village of Old Forge below. A glimpse of the bones of the former lift and around the water tower takes you on a groomed trail to a short single track in the woods.The last kilometer is up and down on groomed trails to the end.
 The town will crown the winter king and queen at the winter castle in the evening as a skiers torchlight procession and fireworks hearld the event. The festivies end with ski jumpers twist and flip off the ramp.

15th Annual Northern Vermont

Snowshoe Race and Family Snowshoe Festival

 Smugglers' Notch Resort and Atlas Snowshoes present this exciting day of treks, walks and races on snowshoes. There's something for everyone: a 1/2K kids' fun run, a 4K fun run/walk, and an 8K race.   A limited number of rentals are available at the Nordic Center. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Burlington, Vermont and the food shelf in Cambridge, Vermont.

February 13, 2016 The Cupid Dash Snowshoe Race

Hosted by United Way of Oxford County.

Participants can choose between a 2.5k, 5k, or 10k snowshoe race. The Cupid Dash will be held on February 13, 2016 at Roberts Farm in Norway, ME as part of the Mellie Dunham Snowshoe Festival. Mellie Dunham was a famous snowshoe maker that lived in Norway, ME, he also was a talented fiddler even playing for Henry Ford. Registration will begin at 9 and the race will begin at 10. The first 50 participants to register will receive a free t-shirt. Participants are also encouraged to dress in their best Valentines Day costumes, United Way of Oxford County will give out a prize for best costume.

The Cupid Dash kicks off the Rock, Paper, Scissors Triple Crown Series, the other two races are the Shamrock Shuffle Cross Country Ski 5k and the Spring Fling 5k Run/Walk.

Registration is $20/race or $50 for the series for adults 19+, students age 12-18 can register for $15/race or $35 for the series. Kids 11 & under can register for free.

All proceeds from the Rock, Paper, Scissors Triple Crown Series benefit United Way of Oxford County’s Community Fund which supports programming focused on educational achievement, meeting basic needs, and improved health.
