We are currently looking for event dates for the 2012-13 season. If you know of any please have the race organizer contact us to as soon as they have a firm date.

A 10k Snowshoe Race to Benefit

The New Land Trust

Saranac, NY

Sunday January 20, 2013

 

The Cock-A-Doodle-Shoe is a10k snowshoe race that will be taking place at The New Land Trust in Saranac, NY on January 20, 2013.  This race will be making use of rolling trails covering most of the Trust’s 287 scenic acres and looks to draw competitors from Quebec, New Hampshire, New York, Vermont, Maine, and Massachusetts.  Proceeds from sponsorship and athlete $15 registration fees will benefit The New Land Trust, which is a non-governmental, not for profit organization dedicated to developing and sustaining this property for the health of the environment and the enjoyment of the public.  The $15 fee will get you a super comfy t-shirt, merchandise raffle eligibility, post race refreshments, and entry into the best snowshoe race ever held.

PARKING ON RACE DAY: Parking is available at Eagle Mountain House - additional parking at the Touring Center, the Town Hall & Grammar School.

RACE CLASSES: Mens and Womens Classes - Open overall, Junior under 19, Masters 40 - 59, Super Masters 60+

COURSE - Combination of open wide groomed and single track forested trails.

START – Eagle Mtn Fields Stadium

START TIMES:  10 AM

START: Self Seed Mass Start - If the person behind you is a faster runner, your start will be more enjoyable by switching positions.

AWARDS: 11:15 AM

RULES: There could be non-event snowshoers on the race trails.   Trekkers on the racecourse are not a reason for protest. 

SAFETY: Report any accidents or issues to the finish line personnel. Emergency Medical Staff will be available at the Start and Finish. 

DROPOUTS: If for some reason you are forced to drop out, please let finish area staff know. This is for your safety and will eliminate the need for a search. Also, do not cross the finish line and get timed unless you have completed the entire race.

Do you want to push the limits of snowshoeing?

Race starts March 1, 2013

 

WHAT:

Ultra Snowshoe Race - 100 miles and Snowshoe Marathon, 1/2 Marathon, and 6 Mile Option.   The course will be a rugged 6.5 mile loop in the Green Mountains of Vermont.  Each loop has 1200 vertical. 


 

WHEN:

100 mile race starts Friday, March 1st at 8 a.m. and has a 36 hour cut off.  All other distances start Saturday morning at 8 a.m.  Course closes at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3rd.
